Monthly quota reset
Monthly quotas reset at midnight UTC on the 1st of each calendar month. Your current usage and the reset date are visible in Dashboard → Usage.
The 429 response
When you exceed a limit, the API responds with 429 Too Many Requests and a Retry-After header indicating how many seconds to wait before retrying. The response body follows the standard error envelope:
HTTP/1.1 429 Too Many Requests
Retry-After: 55
{
"error": {
"code": "RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED",
"message": "Per-minute rate limit exceeded. Retry after 55 seconds."
}
}Handling rate limits
- Check the
Retry-Aftervalue and wait that many seconds before retrying. - Implement exponential back-off for sustained high-volume workloads.
- Use
per_page=100(Pro+) to fetch more data per request and reduce total call count. - If you regularly approach your monthly quota, upgrade your plan or contact us for Enterprise pricing.
